Set designs vs. set construction
In order for “Ostrich Oven” to succeed in moving the audience, I felt the interiors of the chapel trailer needed to be dream-like yet authentic. During pre-production I sketched the look that I was going after for our production designer, Justin Thompson. What he and his assistant, Michelle Bonker, built was nearly identical, the only changes being the great improvements he made on my original designs.
The lighting rig above was the set was painstakingly made by Scott Drickey of Minorwhite Studios and Michael Arch of F-Troupe.
